African American artist James C. Scott is a former student of the late John T. Scott (no relation), who is best known for creating large woodcut prints and for his African-Caribbean-New Orleans-inspired kinetic sculptures, as well as his commissions of several pieces that are placed throughout the City of New Orleans.

This fine art watercolor was acquired by WAJ Collectibles from Swann Galleries in New York, where it had been acquired from the African-American Art Collection. of Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company.
